I’ll start out with just a few updates on things going on behind the scenes. Jon is almost done with the site changes and it won’t be long before you’ll perusing the new look. I think you’ll love it… but then again, I’m biased.

We are looking to break ground with a new look in a different manner as well. Those of you that have a decently strong Internet connection will be able to sign up for what we think is a truly unique manner of delivery of local racing. At this point in time, it is my intention to provide everyone with broadband watching the Crystal Motor Speedway events the over head camera view at no charge. This view will provide you most of the racing you would normally see on your average live web stream. We will have a producer sitting in a booth, switching between three cameras to give you a view that will keep you tuning in on the nights you can’t make it to the track. Other tracks may be joining in very soon.

We think you’ll be very happy with that view… but…. we will also have a Pay Per View (PPV) version that will absolutely make you flip. Picture in your mind four simultaneous views on the same page, each with its own volume control and a link to bring any one view to near full page. The main view of course will be the same as the free version. Two of the other views will be action in each of the corners while the fourth camera will be used for ‘special’ things. Instead of watching cars go around the track under caution, PPV viewers might be watching previously recorded interviews with a driver or crew member or a live interview with some one at the track… a heat or feature winner, some one who just had ‘the race of their career’, or some ‘unsung hero.’ It should be interesting.

I was honored to receive the Michigan Automobile Racing Fan Club’s ( MARFC ) “2007 Electronic Media Award” for our efforts with ROTW and StreamNet Radio (SNR) on January 19th in Warren, Michigan. We hope to live up to that honor as we move forward in 2008. We think you'll soon understand why our motto this coming year is:
"Make it Great in 2008!"
